UNKNOWN GUNMEN ABDUCT FULANI LEADER IN KOGI STATE

 

Unknown Gunmen have successfully kidnapped a Fulani community leader, Mallam Iliyasu, during a midnight attack on his home at the Fulani Camp in Shagari Village, Lokoja, Kogi State capital.

This was contained in a post on X by security analyst, The Counter insurgency analyst, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on X, Friday.

The attack according to him happened around 12:20 a.m. on Thursday.

“The attackers broke into his house, fired several gunshots into the air, and forcefully took him away to an unknown location,” he wrote.

During the attack, Mallam Iliyasu’s wife and son, Abdulsalam, were shot while trying to stop the kidnappers.

The two injured victims were rushed to Ashafa Hospital, where they are receiving treatment and said to be getting better.

“Security forces who visited the scene found 17 empty AK-47 bullet shells,” Makama added.

The relative of the victim, Alhaji Ahmadu Yusuf however confirmed the abduction and called on the authorities to act quickly and help bring Mallam Iliyasu back home safely.
