POLICE TACTICAL SQUADS KILLED SUSPECTED BANDITS RECOVER ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN KEEBI STATE

The Special Tactical Squad of the Nigerian Police Force, deployed to Bagudo local government area of Kebbi state on Wednesday night killed a suspected bandit and inflicted gunshot wounds on another.

In a statement issued to the Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi  by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bashir Usman,  the squad intercepted an unregistered Boxer motorcycle conveying two suspected armed bandits during a routine patrol.

“Upon interception and during a security check, the suspects opened fire on the operatives and the police team responded in self-defence, leading to the killing of one of them while the others escaped with gunshot injuries. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

“Items recovered  include 586 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition, three AK-47 magazines, one camouflage uniform, one military-style bag, two mobile phones, cash of N404,500, as well as the unregistered motorcycle used by the suspects,” the statement said.
