In continuation of its oversight function, the Niger State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Works and Infrastructure has concluded an inspection of various road construction projects in Zone B, covering Minna and Bosso town.

The Committee Chairman, Hon. Arc Abubakar Suleiman Gomna, Member Representing Bosso Constituency, stated that the Committee is out to carry out its constitutional responsibility of oversight function to ascertain the level of work done so far by the various construction companies and what they have appropriated for infrastructural development in Niger State, so that Nigerlites will get value for their money.

The committee inspected ongoing road projects, including:

Tunga Bridge (Bridge One), Mobi Bridge, and Moris Underpass Bridge being handled by CCEC Construction Company

5km Township Road handled by Global Legend Integrated Consult

10km Road Project handled by Kanazod Investment Limited

Hon. Gomna commended CCC Construction Company for quality work but expressed deep concerns over non-compliance with safety measures on construction sites.

The committee showed dissatisfaction with Global Legend Integrated Consult for not being present on-site and directed the contractor to appear at the Niger State House of Assembly for further legislative action.

In response, Engr. Nasiru Abdullahi, Personnel and Project Manager of CCEC Construction Company, thanked the committee for the visit and assured them of improved safety measures and provision of alternative roads to reduce hardship faced by Nigerlites.
