The Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr.(Dr) Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin Daji, led a high-powered delegation on a condolence visit to Bangi Army Camp and affected Communities in Mariga Local Government, following the recent bandit attacks that resulted in loss of lives and destruction of properties.
The delegation, which included prominent dignitaries such as Hon. Aminu Musa Bobi, Niger State APC Chairman; Alh. Balarabe Kagara, representing Senator Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger North; Hon. Abbas Kasuwan Garba, Executive Chairman of Mariga Local Government; and other notable stakeholders, visited the areas affected by the attacks.
During the visit, the Speaker expressed heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Army and families of fallen soldiers, commending their bravery in the fight against banditry. He also appreciated the Army’s efforts in eliminating many bandits during the attacks. The Commandant of the Nigerian Army appreciated the Speaker’s visit and sought more consistent communication to provide timely updates on bandit movements.
The Speaker and his entourage also visited Kumbashi, Maburya, and Kakihum to console with affected communities, expressing solidarity and support. This gesture demonstrates the government’s commitment to the welfare and security of its citizens. In a heartwarming display of empathy, the Speaker made personal donations to the affected communities, aiming to provide solace and support to those impacted by the recent bandit attacks.
The Hon. Speaker’s visit demonstrates our commitment to supporting our security agencies and affected communities. “We stand united against banditry and terrorism,” the Hon. Speaker emphasized, reaffirming the government’s resolve to tackle insecurity in the state.
