The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has called for enhanced collaboration between the Niger State Government and Federal Establishments operating within the State to fast-track development and ensure effective service delivery to the people.

Alhaji Usman made this call while delivering remarks at the Quarterly Meeting of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in Niger State, held at the Conference Hall of SSG’s Office in Minna. The meeting brought together key Federal stakeholders and State Government officials to deliberate on areas of mutual cooperation and policy alignment.

The SSG emphasized that the present administration of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago remains committed to inclusive governance, transparency and synergy across all tiers of Government.

He noted that the New Niger Agenda is people-centered and development-driven, requiring collective efforts from Federal, State and local institutions to achieve its objectives.

Alhaji Usman stressed that Federal Establishments play a critical role in national and State development and assured the Association of the State Government’s readiness to strengthen partnerships in areas such as security, agriculture, infrastructure, human capital development and social welfare. He urged members of the Association to align their programmes and operations with the vision and reform initiatives of the Bago-led administration for greater impact.

Responding on behalf of the Association, the Chairperson, Mrs. Deborah Charles, expressed appreciation to the Niger State Government for the engagement and reaffirmed the Association’s readiness to collaborate fully with the State in implementing the New Niger Agenda.

The Chairperson described the agenda as progressive and capable of repositioning the State for sustainable growth if all stakeholders work together.

Mrs. Charles disclosed that the Association resolved to institutionalize quarterly meetings with officials of the Niger State Government as a platform for continuous dialogue, coordination and evaluation of joint initiatives aimed at achieving shared development goals.

She also appealed to the State Government to consider the inclusion of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in the welfare packages of the State Government, noting that such consideration would further motivate members and strengthen intergovernmental relations.

The meeting was in attendance the Coordinator Federal Establishments Liaison to Niger State Governor, Muhammad Sani Usman and Former Special Adviser to the governor on labour matters, Comrade Engr. Aminu Yusuf as well as the Director General Labour Affairs, Comrade Kabiru Ibrahim respectively.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to sustained collaboration, mutual support and collective responsibility in delivering good governance and improved service delivery to the people of the State.
