Niger State Head of Service
The Niger State Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has expressed his readiness to partner with Nigerian Society of Mining Engineers ( NSME) for the transformation of Solid Mineral Sector in the State.
The Farmer Governor gave the assurance recently during the 24th Annual General Meeting and International Conference ” held at Haske Luxury Hotel, Minna Niger State capital.
Governor Bago who was represented by the State Head of Service, Abubakar Sadiq Idris reiterated the commitment of his administration towards a sustainable and responsible Mining.
” There is the need for sustainable and responsible Mining in order to protect the Environment as well as adding value to the operationalization of the sector under the green energy initiative which is the core agenda of my administration” he said.
Speaking further, he said his administration will continue to promoting responsible Mining practices as Nigeria moves towards greener and cleaner energy.
The Niger State Farmer Governor who was Honoured with Fellowship award appreciated the NSME for their continuous contribution to the National Development.
However, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the Conference, Engr. Abubakar Baba Jibreel in his closing remarks appreciated the Farmer Governor for hosting the Conference.
Engr. Abubakar said that the theme of the Conference ” Sustainable Mining Practices as Crucial Support for Nigeria’s Transition to Renewable Energy Sources” can play a significant role in the transformation agenda of Farmer Governor Bago administration in the Solid Mineral Sector.
The distinguished guests who attended the conference include , President of Nigeria Society of Mining Engineers, Engr. Umar A Hassan, National President of Nigeria Mining and Geo-sciences Society , Ms Rose Ndong, and other dignitaries who included the representative of Nassarawa State Governor.
