“No fewer than dozens of bandits were killed following two precision air interdiction missions by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at Turba Hill and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara.” .
This was disclosed by Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, in a statement on Monday that the airstrikes were conducted on Sunday based on credible multi-source intelligence.
Ejodame explained that the strikes targeted key bandit enclaves linked to recent attacks in the North-West, with NAF air assets deployed to degrade the criminal elements’ combat capabilities and deny them safe havens.
According to him, the first strike at Turba Hill, a confirmed bandit hideout, destroyed a zinc-roofed structure central to the enclave’s operations.
“Post-strike assessment confirmed the total destruction of the target and the neutralisation of several bandits.
The second mission hit Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious IED manufacturing and operational hub linked to recent attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis. Multiple active structures were engaged, triggering intense fires that destroyed the facilities and neutralised several bandits, crippling the group’s IED production and deployment capacity,” he said.
Ejodame added that the strikes dealt a significant blow to bandit networks in Zamfara, particularly their ability to manufacture and deploy improvised explosive devices.
