KEBBI POLICE COMMAND ARREST KIDNAP SUSPECTS, RECOVER ARMS

The Kebbi State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, has arrested three men allegedly linked to a kidnapping operation in Shanga Local Government Area of the State.

The spokesperson of the Command, SP Bashir Usman confirmed the arrest in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday.

According to him, the suspect are Abubakar Muhammadu, Abdullahi Majo, and Ali Alhaji Jemu.

They were said to have been picked up at Bagudo Market after police acted on what they described as “credible intelligence.”

The trio have been connected to the abduction of a 55-year-old man from Bani Koso Village.

“Two locally made firearms, a cartridge and three machetes were recovered,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mohammed Hadejia, has directed that the case be handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi.

The suspects are to be charged in court after investigation.
