INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE: NSCDC NIGER COMMAND SEEKS STAKEHOLDERS’ COMMITMENT TO PROMOTE PEACE

As part of activities to commemorate the International Day of Peace 2025, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has organized an engagement program which aimed at promoting unity and communal harmony in Niger State.

The program, took place on Monday, September 22, 2025, with a themed: ” *Act Now for a Peaceful World:* A Way Forward for Niger State on Land dispute , Farmer/Herders Disputes Communal Dispute, Borrowers/Lenders Disputes, Landlord or Landlady and Tenant Disputes and many more.” The program feature a Peace Walk and a Lecture Engagement with senior officers in attendance.

The Peace Walk which took off from the State Command Headquarters through the Eastern bypass to Top Medical hospital road, returning back to the State Command headquarters at 8:00 am. The Lecture Engagement took place immediately after by the head of Peace and Conflict Management Unit at the State Command headquarters in Minna.

The Commandant, NSCDC Niger State Command, Commandant *Suberu Siyaka Aniviye* who made an address that every September 22 is marked as international day of peace, he urged the good people of Niger State to shun violence and embrace mutual tolerance for lasting peace. He emphasized that the program aims to address communal clashes and foster harmonious communities.

By promoting peace and unity, the NSCDC Niger State Command is committed to creating a safer and more peaceful environment for all residents.
