We are deeply touched and saddened by the recent tragic deaths of three innocent villagers in the Gidan-Kwanu community near Minna, Niger State.
Preliminary reports indicate that the unfortunate incident may have involved one of our company’s vehicles. It was gathered that a motorcycle carrying three passengers was reportedly approaching at high speed from behind when the accident occurred at about 9:00 a.m.
As a responsible and law-abiding organization, we strongly condemn any act that results in the unjustifiable loss of human life.
We join all well-meaning members of the public in extending our heartfelt sympathy to the families of the deceased and the entire Gidan-Kwanu community over these painful and untimely losses. We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed souls Aljanah Firdaus and gives their families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
We are pleased to inform the public that preliminary investigations by the Police and the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) have indicated that the motorcycle rider may have lost control due to over-speeding and collided with the rear of the moving truck. However, further investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the accident and establish the culpability of those involved.
We assure the public that prompt and decisive action will be taken against anyone found to be directly or indirectly responsible for this unfortunate incident.
As a company, we reaffirm our commitment to operating with utmost discipline, respect for human life, and sensitivity to the wellbeing of our host communities. In line with this commitment, all our staff, including drivers, recently participated in a security and safety seminar organized by the Niger State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
We assure all our host communities that we will continue to uphold strict compliance with safety standards and take appropriate disciplinary measures against any staff found wanting.
