The Federal High Court ( FHC) in Abuja dismisses a suit filed by associates of Nyesom Wike seeking to stop the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its forthcoming National Convention.
It was reported that the court declined to grant an interim injunction, allowing preparations for the convention to continue.
Political observers believe that the suit was part of an internal battle over the control and direction of the party, as loyalists of the FCT Minister and other PDP stakeholders continue to clash over leadership and strategy.
With the court’s decision, the stage now appears set for what could be one of the most decisive PDP conventions in recent years.
