Following the prolonged absence, the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Alkali has finally returned to Jalingo, the State capital.
Although there is no official statement from the government on Alkali’s return, there is a short video clip of his circulating on social media.
The Sources who disclosed this to our correspondent said told that Alkali came into the state through Yalo Airport.
“The Deputy Governor arrived from Abuja and taken to his official residence at Government House, in a convoy of four vehicles” he concluded
Alkali, who has been reportedly battling an undisclosed ailment, was last seen in office eight months ago.
An official attached to the Deputy governor’s office, who did not want his name mentioned, said the Deputy governor entered his office today and stayed briefly.
“It is today that l was told that the Deputy governor returned to Jalingo unannounced. l did not see him at the time l entered the office but l was told that he entered his office briefly and met with some senior officers,” he said.
The Deputy governor has no press secretary assigned to him, but the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Agbu Kefas, Mr Yusuf Sanda, said he had not been officially informed about the return of the Deputy governor.
“I saw a short video clip showing the Deputy governor in his office and l do not know the source of the video clip” he said.
