COUNCIL ELECTIONS WOULD BE FREE ,FAIR AND CREDIBLE — NISEC

The Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NISEC) has re-assured the electorates and Stakeholders of  Political Parties that the forthcoming Council elections would be free, fair and credible.

The NISEC Public Relation Officer,  Usman Aliyu gave this assurances recently during a chat with Newsmen in Minna, the State Capital.

He said that the commission is doing everything possible to make the forthcoming Council elections credible so as to strengthen the foundation of our Local Democracy.

 

 

To maintain public trust and uphold electoral Integrity, Aliyu said that NISEC has been in tune with all  Political Parties on the electoral processes including the assurance of declaring  the Councillor ship election results at the Wards Level while the Chairmanship will be done at the Local Government Offices.

In addition to this, he said that the commission has also organized workshops for electoral Officers to get them accustomed with the task ahead of the Local Government elections.

The NISEC Spokesman who described  election as part of Nation’s building assured that the commission would safeguard the forthcoming Council election against artificial setbacks.

” The electoral process is a vital part of a democracy that grants  people the exclusive right to choose their Leaders and shape their future. To ensure our Local Democracy continue to flourish, NISEC under the Leadership of Engr. Mohammed Jibrin Imam will maintain  electoral processes that would be a point of reference to the generations to come.” Aliyu declared.
