The Government of Burkina Faso, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré has declared Education completely free, from primary school all the way through University.
The President who disclosed this during a chat with Newsmen recently said College and University students will also receive a monthly stipend until they graduate and find a job.
This bold initiative shows that Africa can forge its own path without relying on Western models that often leave young people in debt. By prioritizing education, Traoré is giving every Burkinabè child a real shot at success and empowering the youth to become the backbone of the continent.
Just think about it: what if Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and other African nations took a page from this playbook—ensuring no child is left behind, no student struggles to pay rent or tuition, and every graduate is ready to make a meaningful contribution to society?
