The Executive Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Umo Eno, has approved the payment of a 13th‑month salary bonus—christened “Eno‑mber” for all state employees ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebrations.

The governor announced the decision on Monday through his social media platforms, shortly after instructing the State Accountant General to release the funds before the festive season reaches its peak.

“I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th‑month Eno‑mber salary before Christmas so our workers can celebrate comfortably. Happy New Month,” he wrote.

A 13th‑month salary is an extra annual payment—usually equal to one month’s wage—designed to help workers meet holiday and end‑of‑year expenses. It is typically disbursed at year-end to support festive spending, travel, gift purchases, and other personal needs.

This latest approval marks the third consecutive year Governor Eno has authorised the “Eno‑mber” bonus for public servants in Akwa Ibom State, reinforcing his commitment to easing financial pressure on workers during the holiday season.

In December 2024, the governor also introduced a new minimum wage of ₦80,000 for all public sector employees under his administration.
