The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its economic reforms, describing them as “heartless” and detrimental to Nigerians’ well-being.
ADC chieftain in Niger state, Engr. Usman Umar Maikunkele who stated this in Minna said the reforms are dictated by Bretton Woods institutions without considering Nigeria’s realities.
Maikunkele contrasted the APC’s approach with the ADC’s proposed economic reforms, which would focus on skills, productivity, and technology development.
He described the ADC’s policies as “organic and original,” claiming they would alleviate poverty and insecurity, if voted to power
The ADC chieftain also condemned the APC’s tax regime, insisting that it has exacerbated hardship.
According to him, “Life has become unbearable for ordinary Nigerians due to the rising cost of living,” he said, emphasizing that government performance should be judged by its impact on citizens’ lives.
Maikunkele assured Nigerians that the ADC would bring change in the 2027 general election, while promising to improve lives and governance.
