A kidnapped victim who was shot by his abductors in Kesan village, Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi state has been rescued by the State Police Command.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar disclosed this in a Statement recently.
According to him, when the gunmen invaded the village and abducted one Abdulmuminu Alhaji Amadu, the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) upon receiving the report mobilised his men alongside Local vigilantes and engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel. During the exchange, the victim was shot in the left leg by his captors, who later abandoned him and fled into the bush.
The victim was immediately evacuated to a hospital where he is receiving treatment and responding well.
However, the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the gallantry of the combined forces and assured that the command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to security agencies.
