A suspected gunrunner with AK-47 rifle have been arrested by Troops of Operation Safe Heaven (OPSH) during a snap checkpoint operation in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Counter insurgency analyst Zagazola Makama who disclosed this said the arrest was made on July 3 at about 5:45 p.m. at Mangar in Daffo District, after receiving credible tips.
According to the security expert, the suspect identified as 37-year-old Zubairu Ahmed was intercepted by the troops and found in possession of one AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine containing three rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.
Meanwhile, the post on Zagazola Makama X handle reveals that the suspect and items recovered are currently in custody for further interrogation, while efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other members of the arms trafficking syndicate.”
