Prominent personalities in Niger State have been recognized for their contributions to community development and institutional reforms towards improving Food Security at the Agra – Niger Rice Trade Fair and Exhibition.
Among those honored were the Coordinator of the Bago Ruga Ruga group, Mallam Hassan Shiroro, and the Director General of Schools and Education Reforms, Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed, who were celebrated for their outstanding service to society.
Both were presented with Niger Foods Award for improving Food Security.

While the Award to Alhaji Hassan Shiroro , was presented in recognition of outstanding efforts to bolster food security in the Ruga community. His dedication to fostering sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring access to nutritious food for all residents is truly commendable.
This achievement is a testament to his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the well-being of our people
The exhibitions brought together farmers, processors, distributors, researchers, and policymakers to foster business relationships, showcase modern agricultural technology, the event also served as a central hub where stakeholders were able to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative technologies to improve crop yield and enhance rice production.
