The Niger State Government has formally handed over the Niger State Printing Press to A. A. Helmer Solutions Limited for revitalisation and professional management under a three-year partnership arrangement.
The initiative is in line with the reform drive of the administration of Umaru Muhammed Bago under the New Niger Agenda, which seeks to reposition government institutions, promote efficiency in public service delivery, and ensure that every government agency effectively delivers on its statutory mandate.
Speaking during the handing-over ceremony at the Printing Press premises, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Abdulrazaaq Mu’azu Jikantoro, emphasised the importance of integrity, commitment, and diligence in the successful execution of the partnership.
He noted that the revitalisation of the Printing Press is expected to strengthen government communication infrastructure, reduce reliance on external printing services, and enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the production of official government documents.
The Commissioner further urged the management of A. A. Helmer Solutions Limited to honour its obligations by restoring the facility to optimal productivity and operational efficiency, while calling on staff of the Printing Press to remain dedicated and cooperative in supporting the success of the initiative.
In his remarks, the Project Coordinator representing the company, Olumide Ajayi, assured the State Government of the organisation’s readiness to fulfil its contractual obligations. He pledged that the company would deploy the necessary expertise and modern printing technology to revitalise the facility, improve service delivery, and restore it to full productivity.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Dr. Idris A. Legbo, commended the State Government for the strategic step aimed at reviving the Printing Press and strengthening institutional capacity within the public service.
He noted that the partnership is expected to boost internally generated revenue for the State, create employment opportunities, improve service delivery to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and position the Printing Press as a viable hub for government and commercial printing services.
The revitalisation of the Printing Press is therefore expected to support good governance by ensuring timely production of official materials, improving operational efficiency across MDAs, and contributing to the broader institutional renewal efforts of the present administration.
