A group under the aegis of “Make Suleja Emirates Great Again” has called on the Niger State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Haruna Abubakar Arafat Magaji, to contest the Gurara, Suleja and Tafa Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election.
The Chairman of the group, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed, made the appeal while speaking with journalists in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State.
Mohammed described Arafat as an experienced and intellectual leader with what he termed a proven track record of service, saying he possesses the capacity to bring development to the federal constituency.
“He understands our struggles, shares our dreams and is willing to walk alongside us on the path to a brighter future,” Mohammed said.
According to him, the 2027 general election in Gurara, Suleja and Tafa Federal Constituency will be influenced by the need to address what he described as neglect and to ensure effective representation at the National Assembly.
He acknowledged that several aspirants have shown interest in contesting for the seat but argued that Arafat’s communication skills and negotiation abilities distinguish him from others.
Mohammed also cited what he described as the commissioner’s open-door policy and humility as qualities that have endeared him to the people of the constituency.
The group maintained that its call reflects the desire of stakeholders and residents across Gurara, Suleja and Tafa for what it described as responsive and people-oriented representation.
