
No fewer than six family members have been kidnapped as suspected terrorists attacked Madagali, the home town of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri in the early hours of Tuesday.
The attack was reportedly carry out in Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state.
The spokesman for Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje who confirmed the incident said security operatives had launched a joint search-and-rescue operation to secure the release of the abducted victims.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, in the early hours of today by suspected terrorists, which led to the abduction of a six family members and the rustling of livestock,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, SP. Nguroje said the command had immediately deployed additional personnel and operational assets to the area in collaboration with other security agencies.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Command immediately intensified collaboration and deployed additional personnel and operational assets in a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, Troops of 144 Battalion, and the Civilian Joint Task Force to the affected area and surrounding communities,” SP Ngurope said
According to the police spokesman, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Dankombo Morris, has ordered sustained operations to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and prevent further attacks.
He stressed that security agencies remained committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
