A Coalition for Women Campaign, across 25 local governments in Niger state have endorsed African Democratic Congress (ADC) aspirant Dr. Mohammed Kpautagi Mohammed for the 2027 governorship election to save the state from bad leadership.

They described him as a humble, hardworking, and people-centered leader capable of rescuing the state from what they termed as “misrule and maladministration.”

The coalition led by Hajiya Aisha Mai Youth Suleja, said the group’s endorsement was both an appreciation of Kpautagi’s track record and a clarion call for him to contest in the state.

According to her, ” Niger state needs a good and purposeful leader that will have the citizens at heart who will empower the women, get rid of poverty, secure their lives and properties, have empathy, inclusive, and patriotic.

They pledged to mobilize massively across communities to ensure his victory.

Zonal coordinators Mrs Hauwa Musa, Mrs. Mary Ishaku Shashere, and Mrs Sadiya Shehu Kontagora in their seperate remarks criticized the APC-led administration for its lack of impact, while urging voters to embrace ADC as a credible alternative.

They regretted voting for the ruling APC during the last general elections in the state without feeling the positive impact of the administration in their local communities, hence the need to vote them out to retrench a competent leadership through ADC as the only alternative in 2027 elections.

Also, the State Coordinator of the Movement and former house of representative representing Lapai/Agaie Federal constituency, Muhammad A. Mahmud thanked the women for their foresight, noting that their strength is the largest voting bloc not only in the state but the country at large..

” You have the highest number of voters during elections and your number determines outcome of polls. We appreciate your familiarization visit, ” he noted. .

In response, Dr. Kpautagi, who also contested in 2023, said it was not yet time for campaigns but appreciated their confidence.

While acknowledging the achievements of the current administration led by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, he emphasized that, if given the mandate in 2027, he would build on that foundation to deliver even greater progress across all sectors of development, ensuring that voters have no cause for regret.

He also assured that when the time comes, he will heed their call and work for the betterment of Niger State and Nigeria, with a manifesto focused on grassroots development, reducing rural-urban migration.
