The Niger State Government has described 2025 as a year of consolidation, strategic coordination and steady progress in the implementation of the New Niger Agenda of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.

In his end-of-year message, the Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, said the present administration focused on strengthening governance, improving inter-ministerial coordination and ensuring effective policy implementation across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The SSG acknowledged the security challenges experienced in parts of the State and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property through enhanced collaboration with security agencies, traditional institutions and community stakeholders.

He noted that despite economic and security pressures, the Government sustained investments in critical sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare and infrastructure, with agriculture remaining a key driver of economic growth and job creation.

Alhaji Usman commended public servants for their dedication and appreciated the support of traditional rulers, religious leaders and citizens, whose cooperation contributed to governance stability throughout the year.

Looking ahead to 2026, the SSG assured residents of renewed commitment to security consolidation, accelerated development and improved service delivery, while wishing the people of the State a peaceful end of the year and a prosperous New Year.
