PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES THE RECRUITMENT OF 30,000 POLICE OFFICERS…

The Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 30,000 additional police officers.

This development was disclosed by the Inspector General of Police to Newsmen after a close door meeting with the President Yesterday.

He noted that the decision taken by the President will go along way to boosting police presence in all communities of the Federation.

The IGP said “Many parts of Nigeria, especially remote areas, have few policemen at the stations, thus making the task of protecting and defending the people difficult.”

The Police Boss however maintained that the Federal Government will be collaborating with the states to upgrade police training facilities nationwide.”

The Closed door meeting was attended by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke; the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Tosin Adeola Ajayi.
