GOVERNOR UBA SANI WARNED POLITICIANS AGAINST MAKING UNGUARDED STATEMENTS…

The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has berated politicians who, he says, are stoking tension and politicising national security issues for selfish gains.

Speaking during a visit by top officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna, the governor cautioned that such actions threaten Nigeria’s peace, unity, and stability.

Sani urged political leaders to draw a clear line between constructive criticism and statements that endanger national security, noting that some opposition figures have become “merchants of conflict” through reckless remarks that tarnish the country’s image.

He described them as “anti-democratic forces” who forget that while political leaders come and go, Nigeria remains. Recalling his years as a human rights activist, Sani referenced late legal icon Gani Fawehinmi, who often reminded Nigerians to differentiate between their leaders and the nation itself.

The Kaduna Governor also took a swipe at privileged elites who, according to him, would abandon the country at the first sign of trouble.

“If anything happens, those living in GRAs will fly their families abroad and leave the poor to bear the brunt,” he warned.
