
A former councillor identified as Hon. Atindiga Tsebee, has been killed while several others were robbed of their belongings as Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins hijacked cars along the Ayilamo–Anyiin road in Logo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.
The incident according to the Locals occurred around 5:00pm at the weekend.
The former councilor who represented Tombo Council Ward, reportedly died after he was shot in the chest while returning from a community meeting.
According to the eyewitnesses, the attackers blocked the road, dispossessed travelers of their belongings, and subjected some to physical assault before fleeing the scene.
It was gathered that the attack came barely two days after a similar incident on October 30, 2025, during which three persons were killed and six others injured at the same location.
The community leaders in Gaambe-Tiev and Ayilamo have expressed concern over the rising cases of insecurity in the area, describing it as alarming and unacceptable.
A community leader in the area, Chief Joseph Anawah, called on the Benue State government and security agencies, including Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), to intensify patrols and strengthen surveillance in the area to forestall further attacks.
Anawah, in a message told newsmen that “A violent incident occured on Saturday November 1, 2025, at approximately 5pm along Ayilamo-Anyiin road in Logo LGA.

“Suspected armed bandits blocked the road and robbed commuters, subjecting them to mistreatment. During the attack Atindiga Tsebee lost his life after being shot in the chest.”
He warned that the continued attacks on farmers in the agrarian communities of Logo could worsen food insecurity if urgent action is not taken to address the menace.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edet Udeme said she would verify and get back.
