TheThe Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu has strongly condemned the attack on vigilante operatives in Umunze Community, Orumba South Local Government Area of the State
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday night.
Ikenga said that the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, saw suspected armed men storm the vigilante office, killing of one operative and five operational vehicles were set ablaze.
However, the Police-led Joint Security Force has taken over the scene and launched operations to track down the perpetrators.
The Police Boss in Anambra State appealed to the local residents to provide credible information to aid the ongoing efforts.
