
The Executive Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of late Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Saidu Paiko, who lost his life in the line of duty on October 17, 2025.
Governor Zulum arrived in Minna through the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, where he was received by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Obed Nuhu Nana, alongside the Commissioners of Water Resources, Faruk Audi, and that of Humanitarian Affairs, Ibrahim Ahmed Inga.
During the visit to the residence of the deceased, Governor Zulum was warmly received by the widow of the late officer and other members of the bereaved family.
He expressed deep sympathy over their loss, describing the late Lieutenant Colonel as a courageous and dedicated officer who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service to the nation.
Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for strength and comfort for the family during this difficult period.
As a mark of solidarity and support, Governor Zulum also made a financial donation to assist the family.
The visit underscores the importance of honouring fallen heroes and providing continued support to the families they leave behind, while reinforcing the collective commitment to national security and service.
