TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN NIGERIA’S UNITY AND SECURITY :-HON NANA. 

The Niger State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, has described the elevation of traditional districts as a strategic measure to address insecurity, foster harmony, and strengthen unity among residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

Hon. Nana made the remark during his turbaning and coronation as Dan Masani of Wyiku (Barangoni) in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

He commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration, under the leadership of Nyesom Wike, for upgrading traditional institutions in the FCT, describing the move as a well-considered step toward preserving and enhancing the relevance of grassroots leadership.

The Commissioner, who described the occasion as a significant milestone in his life, expressed deep appreciation to His Royal Highness, Danlami Ibrahim Nana, the District head of the area for the honour bestowed on him.

He pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him, assuring that he would work collaboratively with other council chiefs to discharge his duties with diligence, integrity, and a strong commitment to the wellbeing of the people.

The ceremony featured colourful traditional displays, presentation of certificates, and a reception attended by dignitaries from within and beyond the FCT.
